I truly hate rules. I feel that in general my own moral compass is a far better predictor of fair and favorable results than strict rules and guidelines made by totalitarian governors.
Although I do disdain rules, I have come to accept that for large societies to exist in peace there is a need for some rulesets to guide the morally and ethically challenged. It is for this reason and this reason alone I will outline some basic guidelines that the users of this network are to follow to remain peaceful.
This list is as far from comprehensive as it is simple.
[Rules]
- Do not disrupt the services of The Internetz. This includes prohibition on things like flooding channels, flooding users, attacking the network, trying to cause netsplits, etc, etc. Please, just don't do it.
- Channel owners have the final say in their channels. If you're banned or kicked from a given channel an operator will not overrule the channel's owner or operators. Please do not evade bans, or raid the channel that banned you. You can always start your own.
- Channels that exist for file sharing are banned from this network. While the owners of the network have no moral objections to the activity we do not condone the use of our resources to act merely as a proxy for file sharing. There are plenty of networks that exist solely for the purpose of file sharing and we respectfully ask that you consider them.
Those are all the rules for the network. These may be updated from time to time if the owners and operators of the network feel there is a need.
